Comet Golfers fired a 374 today at Pond View G.C. to finish 6th in the Pioneer Invitational. The Comets were led by Senior, Luke Graham, with an 88. Max Sommers shot a 92 followed by another strong performance from Freshman, Owen Chapman, with a 93. Jace Rentschler carded a 101 and Sophomore, Gage Thomas, brought in a 104. Rossville won the invite with a 329, followed by Lewis Cass with a 340, and Pioneer with a 342. Micah Rans was medalist with a 77. Coach Rentschler commented after the match, “Definitely an improvement over last Saturday. It was our best team performance of the season, but we all feel like we are leaving potentially 30 strokes out there. We will work on our short game on our off days this week as our putting is in need of improvement. We have to get up and down around the green and work towards getting up and down from 80 yards. We get there, we will have something very special and these boys will be pretty unstoppable.” Caston golfers will play at Rochester Monday night, and again Tuesday, at Pond View Golf Course.
